Make your mark as an Equipment Technician at Gardline!
Gardline Ltd currently has an opportunity for an Equipment Technician to join the team. The key objectives of the role are to develop, maintain, repair, assemble and test equipment for use in the field in preparation to acquire marine environmental data. Applicants must have the right to live and work in the UK.
This position also provides the opportunity to work offshore for up to 60 days per year onboard our fleet of vessels.
Your responsibilities include:
- Maintain and repair equipment received from field operations. Obtaining quotes for repair when required.
- Able to spend up to 60 days offshore.
- Assist in the composition of technical documentation, including equipment manuals, training material, procedures (SOP) and risk assessments.
- Assist in the delivery of relevant training for equipment to Field Environmental Scientists (FES).
- Be involved in Environmental equipment research and development.
- Be a member of a team which provides out of hours support to the offshore teams.
- Prepare and test equipment ready for dispatch to any vessel and assist in the packing of equipment and consumables for safe onward transportation.
- Support Gardline and third party vessels vessel with mobilisation and demobilisation of equipment – this will include visiting vessels (which can be located worldwide).
- Manufacture survey systems from parts lists/drawings.
Qualifications
Your qualities
You can make your mark as an Equipment Technician if you have:
- Formal qualification in Electrical Engineering
- BTEC L3 or equivalent
- Good hardware knowledge of IT systems and software installation
- Experience of MS Office products (particularly Word, and Excel)

- Fulltime job: The position of Equipment Technician is a fulltime role, 37.5 hours per week. You will also have the opportunity to spend up to 60 days offshore.
