Boskalis acquires remaining 50% share in Dragamex, Mexico

Royal Boskalis Westminster nv has acquired the remaining 50% share in its Mexican subsidiary Dragamex. The agreement will become effective as of mid-November 2008.

Boskalis has had an ongoing presence in Mexico since 1993 when the Mexican dredging market was liberalized, at which point Boskalis, together with its local partner, acquired a large part of the government's dredging fleet. Mexico is one of the Boskalis home markets characterized by an ongoing presence, with approximately 500 employees and a local fleet including seven small to medium trailing suction hopper dredgers, six cutter suction dredgers, two cranes, numerous barges and a variety of support equipment.

Over the past 15 years Dragamex has become the leading dredging company in Mexico and has executed numerous maintenance and capital dredging projects in ports.

In the years to come, the Mexican dredging market is set to expand further as a result of an ambitious investment program by the Mexican government. Boskalis expects to capitalize on these developments through its local presence and broad experience in the Mexican market.
