Make Your Mark as a Geophysical Equipment Technician Gardline! 

We have an exciting opportunity to join our busy Geophysical Engineering Workshop Team where you’ll be responsible for the mechanical maintenance, assembly, calibration and repair of geophysical equipment and instruments. This is a hands on role and requires more of a mechanical bias but responsibilities also include testing and calibration of electronic equipment. The position also provides a great opportunity for some travel support the mobilization of our vessels in and around various UK ports and on some occasions a little further afield.

 

Your Responsibilities:

  • Regularly inspect geophysical instruments to ensure they are in good working condition.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning, refurbishing, and replacing worn-out parts and diagnose and repair faulty equipment.    
  • Calibrate geophysical instruments to ensure precise measurements ensuring detailed records of maintenance, repairs and calibrations are maintained.
  • Forklift truck operation and organisation of warehouse and yard.
  • Assisting in the mobilisation of vessels away from base.
  • Adherence to all safety protocols and guidelines, ensuring a safe working environment in the workshop.

 

Your Qualities:

You can move ahead as a Geophysical Equipment Technician if you have:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a technical or maintenance role
  • It would be preferable if the candidate had some Mechanical and Electrical/electronic system knowledge.   
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

  • Where you will work: 1 Hewett Park, Hewett Road, Great Yarmouth, NR31 0NN
  • Fulltime/ part-time job: The position of Geophysical Equipment Technician is a full-time, permanent role, 37.5 hours per week
