Make your mark as a Nearshore Vessel Skipper at Gardline!
We are looking for a Nearshore Vessel Skipper to join the team to support with the command of crew/passengers/client’s aboard vessel. We are looking for candidates with at least two year’s experience working on small tonnage vessels in the offshore industry supporting windfarms. Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work on your own and as part of a small team. The working rotation for this role is three weeks on/off.
Your Responsibilities:
- Overall Command of the vessel
- Vessel Navigation and safety, to include safety inductions
- Passage planning, Chart corrections
- Radio Communications
- Daily Vessel checks
- Vessel Logbook
- Pre-sail and alongside safety briefings
- Re-fueling booking and execution
- Crew hours of rest management
- Wind and Sea state calls for vessel and crew safety
- Emergency Response co-ordination
- Active Participant in Daily Toolbox talks
- Vessel fault finding and repair coordination
- Assist with any other reasonable duties as requested by the line manager
- Attending training and development courses and supporting team members
Your Qualities:
You can make your mark as a Nearshore Vessel Skipper if you have:
- 2 years of experience in small boat handing / windfarm work
- Minimum requirements in – Yacht master 200t CoC, GMDSS short range VHF, MCA radar, MCA Stability.
- Although not mandatory candidates holding a Master 200grt MCA CoC, GOC GMDSS, STCW95 Medical first Aid, Approved engine course part 1 (AEC) would be looked on favourably
- You will be required to hold a STCW95 (Basic Safety Training) and ENG1 Medical
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications – Word, Excel, Outlook
- Excellent organisational skills
- Ability to converse both verbally and written with ship staff
- Able to complete tasks to meet strict deadline and to keep calm under pressure and remain focused and displaying a proactive approach
- Right to work in the UK required

- Right to work in the UK required
- A full drivers’ license is necessary
- The successful candidate will be required to pass an ENG 1 medical and STCW95 survival course (if not already obtained)
